*The Glengarriff Boat Builder*
As the tides in Glengarriff ebb and flow,
There was a craftsman many will know.
Vincent O’Sullivan, with skill so rare,
Carved the hulls of each boat with patience and care.
His bandsaw sang, and the timbers he bent,
Every rib and joint was sealed with intent.
In each plank, his wisdom lay,
The master’s touch in each display.
From Garnish Island to the sandquay,
His boats set out so proud and free.
Like the Harbour Queen, which rides the wave,
His dream, his passion, his heart he gave.
And though the tides may rise and fall,
His spirit still lives beyond them all.

Back in 1975 when we were fishing in Bantry we were stoned from landing at the pier there and had to go across to Glengarriff .We were met by Vincent who made us welcome and always looked out for our welfare while fishing there .May His kind and gentle soul rest in peace .Sail away Vincent to a rest well earned
