To Franz and family. Condolences to you on the passing of you dad. RIP.
My deepest sympathy to Kate and family on the recent death of Vincent.
I knew Vincent through his work in North Strand evening school where he was both a great colleague but also an inspiration to those students to whom he gave so much good teaching and advice in his Fitness Training classes. Always affable and approachable I remember him fondly and whenever I meet any of his past pupils their first question is about Vinny.
May he rest in peace

Just read of Vinnie’s passing today - abroad in August. Always a very pleasant and competent officer and enjoyed meeting him over the years. Deepest sympathy from Deirdre and myself to Kate and family.
Deepest sympathy to Kay and Family on the death of your beloved Husband and Father. You're in my thoughts and heart at this sad time. May treasured memories of Vinny keep him close by you always. Códladh sámh Vinny.
Sincere sympathy to Anna, Ruarc and the Savino family on the passing of your father/grandfather and husband Vincent. RIP
Vinny was the Leinster Cricket Club coach when I arrived in 1995 and was committed, passionate and ahead of his time. I have fond memories of him bringing in Mick Ostinelli (who spoke so well at the funeral) as a sports psychologist - he was nicknamed the ‘head’ coach much to Vinny’s amusement
I learned a lot from him from 95-97 and I always enjoyed crossing paths with him when St.Columba’s played CUS
In 1997 Vinny was giving me a lift back from a match in Cork and I remember him saying, many people think I am good because I go to church, but I always say to them, I don't go to church because I am good, I go because I am in need of forgiveness!
He was a true gentleman, a deep thinker in terms of cricket and a man of great faith in Jesus
My condolences to his family and friends
The funeral was a great tribute to remarkable man
RIP Vinny and thank you for all of your input
God bless you

I was very saddened to hear of Vinny’s death and send my deepest sympathies to Katie and her family. I take it as an honour to have known Vinny. He set a great example by making the fullest use of his abilities throughout his life and was a great team-mate who treated victory or defeat with the same equanimity and wry sense of humour that was a major part of his personality, whether on the sports field or taking a hike up Lugnaquilla. May he rest in peace.
Condolences and deeoest sympathy to the Savino family. I served under the General in the QMG's Br and later as his Sgt in the Defence Forces Press Office. The Press Office was a very busy and demanding job at that time.. It was a real honour for me to have known and worked beside him. He was totally professional and I copied him in every way. THE General promoted me on two (2) occasions during my military career. Dear General, rest in eternal peace.

My condolences to the Savino family. Good neighbours in Fernhill. Vinnie was a fitness guru before it was fashionable and Mrs Savino was an early promotor of yoga. I remember them going on UN duty. The Park was all the poorer for the loss of the beautiful Savino girls. It's a small world - and Vinnie was there to teach my son Philip to swing bowl on fondly remembered Leinster coaching nights at The Naul. A great man by any measure. Rest in Peace.

General Savino introduced us to cricket and demonstrated immense patience while we slowly learned the depth of what we didn’t know about the game he clearly truly loved.

I'd like to offer my condolences to the family of this gentleman. I didn't know him or his family but I clicked into the link of his details on this site when I noticed he was a member of the defence force. I am very impressed to read about his service in the military as a veteran and the distinguished record of service he also had to the wider community as well. Therefore I felt that I had to leave a message to his loved ones. May he rest in peace.
