I met Walter in August of last year, He shared a ward with my Mother, Margaret 'Rita' Carmody, in Muckross (She has since passed). He addressed me as 'comrade' whenever I spoke to him. I could tell he was a man of great dignity who's family cared deeply for him. I am very sorry for their loss and the grief they are suffering now. I hope Walter is at peace. Rest well, Comrade.
