Sad to hear of Willie‘s passing. Willie was one of the first soldiers I met on being posted to 4 Inf Bn. Always helpful and hard working, he had a happy smile thst brightened up many a dull day. Condolences to his family and friends.

Sergeant Willie Ahern R.I.P. proudly served in the 4 Battalion for most of his twenty one years of service in the Defence Forces. He was always popular and a true character. His former comrades can recount the many humorous stories during his service. Willie’s enthusiasm to serve was evident in his remarkable seven overseas trips in three missions.
