Patrick (Whack) Shannon

Shannon, Chestnut Grove, The Maples, Arklow and formerly of Barniskey and Seabank, Arklow, Co. Wicklow. 24th January 2026 peacefully surrounded by his family and in the loving care of the staff at Wicklow Hospice, Magheramore. Patrick (‘Whack’ aged 58 years) loving husband of AnnMarie (née Fennell) and dearly loved father of Patrick and Joseph, proud grandad of Patrick (P.J.) and Fiadh Marie, treasured brother of Teresa (Mags) Richard, Martin, Paul and Linda. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, sons and their partners Ashley and Chloe, grandchildren, mother-in-law Breda, sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, friends and all his pals at Arklow Men’s Community Shed.

May Patrick Rest in Peace.

Patrick will be reposing at Hudson’s Funeral Home, Arklow (Y14 PT80) on Wednesday from 3pm to 7pm. Removal from his home on Thursday morning at 9.40am to The Church of Saints Mary & Peter, Arklow arriving for Mass at 10am, followed by Cremation service at 1.45pm in The Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross, Dublin.

Walking to the Wheelie Pump and then proceeding via the Sea Road and Jack Whites to Mount Jerome.

Patrick’s wife AnnMarie, his sons Patrick and Joseph would like to express their gratitude to the Sacred Heart Ward, the Coronary Care Unit, the doctors, nurses and all the staff at The Mater Hospital for the love and care shown to Patrick throughout his life.
