Peter Gillooly

2 Chapel St, Elphin, Roscommon / Coolaney, Sligo

After a long illness bravely borne, surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Michael and Kate Gillooly and brother of the late Kathleen Kelly (Borefield). Beloved husband of Marian and dear father of Michael (Roscommon Town), Lorraine Kenny (Moore, Co. Roscommon), Fiona Henry (Ballinvalley, Coolaney, Co. Sligo) and Peter (Turloughmore) and brother of Micheal (Annaghbeg, Strokestown). Peter will be sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, sons-in-law Liam and Micheal, daughters-in-law Marie and Anita, cherished grandchildren Emma, Adrian, Declan, Peter, Saoirse, Michael, Adam, Calum, Aoife, Evan, Kayla, Kai and Amber, brother Micheal, sister-in-law Phil Browne, nephews, nieces, relatives and his many friends.

Due to current Government guidelines regarding public gatherings, a Private Funeral will take place in Pete’s Dear Old Elphin. Those who would have liked to attend the Funeral, but due to current restrictions cannot, please feel free to leave a message in the Condolence Book at the bottom of this page. The family are extremely grateful for your sympathy, support and understanding at this difficult time.  

 

Remains arriving at St.Patrick's Church, Elphin on Wednesday (20th May) for private family Funeral Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. 

  

Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to Sligo Hospital Renal Dialysis Unit.

 

Pete's family would like to extend a special thank ou to all the doctors, nurses and staff of Sligo University Hospital especially those in the Renal Dialysis Unit for the care and kindness they gave Dad over the last four and a half years. Also a big thank you to the home helps, local GP's, pharmacist, OT's, palliative care staff and all who helped Dad and us during this difficult time.
