Reflection 2 - Lord to whom shall we go...

'LORD TO WHOM SHALL WE GO'

The above words may be familiar to us and they are the words of Peter to Jesus. They are also our words at a time of grief. Indeed to whom shall we go? Often we feel that there may be nobody there for us; people do not wish to listen to us and this is rarely a reflection on us but reflects at times the inability of others to stand with us or by us in our grief. People may even avoid us on the street and we notice this, yet let us blame not!

The pain of grief is all powerful and it takes great surrender and strength to let it have its rightful place. A place that will pain yes; a pain that will intensify yes; yet out of this comes the layers of healing that enable us to begin slowly, yet positively, to live a new life .

There is one person that will always listen to us and that is our Higher Power; Jesus. As he listened to Peter so He does with us, let us put our trust and faith in Him as Peter did. Peter concludes the above quotation 'You Lord have the message of eternal life' John 6:68.1

May we in our pain; our struggle; our grief hear the Lord's message of consolation in our hearts.
